You assess student learning on a broad range of outcomes, using a variety of tools. The numerical response format you already use for calculations can do so much more! In this workshop, we'll look at question styles that use numerical response to give timely feedback on a wide range of outcomes while giving students freedom to demonstrate their learning and also their misconceptions (even the ones you didn't expect). We'll focus our exploration on the outcomes you may not associate with numerical response questions, from qualitative understanding to lab skills. The facilitators, Jason Cooper and Laura Pankratz, have decades of classroom and assessment experience. Participants in this workshop will engage in discussion and exploration of what is currently working in Alberta classrooms.
