Building Great Multiple Choice Questions

Timely feedback that assesses for genuine student misconceptions matters to you. Multiple choice questions can be a great way to achieve this, going beyond simple recall, and can be a powerful tool when focusing assessment on specific outcomes. In this workshop, we'll look at how you can get the most from multiple choice items, building strategies for making high-quality questions and choices and exploring some of the applications in which multiple choice can be a great choice. The facilitators, Jason Cooper and Laura Pankratz, have decades of classroom and assessment experience. Participants in this workshop will engage in discussion and exploration of what is currently working in Alberta classrooms.
