Are you finding it difficult to motivate your students to speak French in the FSL classroom? If so, this workshop is for you!! The workshop will briefly introduce participants to the principles of task-based language teaching (TBLT) before exploring resources developed by the Lethbridge Curriculum Developers Group to promote engagement in the French classroom. The interactive presentation will introduce participants to a variety of games to develop communicative competence and a series of clusters that encourage participants to learn French while surviving a zombie apocalypse, solving a crime scene investigation, and creating a weather forecast. The workshop will be of interest to elementary and junior high French as a second language teachers, and anyone interested in getting ideas on how to teach language in a more engaging and authentic manner.
