Task-based language teaching (TBLT) has garnered significant attention due to its ability to facilitate conditions and learning processes associated with language acquisition (Ellis, 2003; Long, 2015). Nonetheless, numerous challenges have been identified that undermine the implementation of the approach, including challenges related to designing tasks (Erlam, 2016). In this interactive presentation, participants will be introduced to criteria that define a task and encouraged to critically engage with the criteria. They will then be shown how the criteria can be used to take activities already used in the classroom to engage in the taskification process. As such, the presentation will support teachers in implementing TBLT in the language classroom with minimal effort. Although the session will be conducted in English, the concepts can be applied to the teaching of any language.
