Supporting Students with Suicide Ideation

This session explores the important topic of supporting students and their families with suicide ideation. Participants will start with a comprehensive and objective suicide assessment, move to suicide safety planning and support, and then cover topics such as active suicidality, suicide prevention, and suicide research. This session will also review a research-backed suicide framework to help with more comprehensive understanding of ideation. Finally, discussion around supporting parents and families will be addressed. This session is aimed at teacher counsellors, administrators, and other school staff that support students with this topic.
