This session shares my unexpected path into the teaching profession and the key lessons learned through early uncertainty, career risk-taking, professional growth, and long-term reflection. Drawing from personal experiences across multiple schools and roles, the session explores lessons such as maintaining balance, embracing change, being willing to move, trying new approaches, and avoiding the trap of believing you have everything figured out. The goal is to offer educators reassurance, perspective, and practical wisdom that resonates across career stages, reminding teachers that growth often comes from discomfort and that meaningful careers are rarely linear.
