About me
Christien joined the Association’s Teacher Employment Membership Support executive staff in 2022. After earning his Bachelor of Education degree from the Campus St Jean, he taught in various communities and school divisions across Alberta before settling in St Albert. Christien is currently pursuing a Labour Relations Certificate from Queen’s University.Prior to joining the Association, Christien spent three years teaching at the elementary level, followed by a transition to Junior and Senior High, where he primarily taught Mathematics, Physical Education, and CTS courses at a Francophone school. He was actively involved in nearly every committee at the local level, including TWC, NSC, C2, Grievance, and Teacher-Board Liaison Committees. Christien also negotiated three collective agreements and completed several bargaining courses.In addition to assisting teachers with issues related to their employment and collective agreement, Christien acts as the staff advisor for Le Conseil Français.
